Windsor Town Green Playground Grand Opening!

Today saw the grand opening of the renovated playground located at 701 McClelland Dr, across from the Huerta Gym. The playground has been closed since the fall of 2016 to undergo a major renovation which included new playground equipment, inclusive play features, rubberized playground surfacing, seating and a new walkway. The enhanced improvements include hand-painted tiles and custom engraved bricks, purchased by community members as part of the Windsor Parks and Recreation Foundation (People4Parks) fund raising campaign.  The Town began outreach and community planning of this project in 2012 and has worked with the People4Parks to raise a portion of the renovation budget.  People4Parks pledged $35,000 towards the completion of this project, including a $25,000 contribution from the Windsor Rotary Club.

The Windsor Town Council, Parks and Recreation Commission, the Windsor Parks and Recreation Foundation Board of Directors, neighbors and staff celebrated with the community today with a “Parks Make Life Better” ceremony in honor of the late Town of Windsor Senior Maintenance Worker Neil Brady who recently retired and passed away in February.
