Tonight,
the Town Council took the following actions:
1. Adopted an interim
ordinance as an urgency measure establishing a temporary moratorium on the
outdoor cultivation of nonmedical marijuana to allow the Town to study the
impacts of Proposition 64 and provide the Town Council with recommendations.
2. Adopted an interim
ordinance as an urgency measure establishing a temporary moratorium on the
indoor cultivation of nonmedical marijuana (except under certain circumstances)
to allow the Town to study the impacts of Proposition 64 and provide the Town
Council with recommendations.
3. Discussed and
directed staff to further study the various potential commercial activities
associated with nonmedical marijuana and bring back potential policies and
ordinances for consideration, in time before the State licensing begins
January 1, 2018.
4. Discussed
deliveries in Town limits. Staff will bring back a recommendation on this
policy in the near future.
5. Directed staff to
further study the issue of implementing a non-smoking policy in multi-family
housing, and bring an ordinance to Council for consideration.
6. Directed staff to
further study and bring back a staff recommendation on possession of nonmedical
marijuana in Town buildings.
7. Directed staff to
further study the issue of industrial hemp cultivation and bring a staff
recommendation to Council at the appropriate time.
